Transfer of Ownership Liquor License Application

If there is currently a liquor license at the premise you are considering, you will need to apply for a transfer of ownership. Collect all of the documents outlined below and then schedule an intake appointment with the Town Clerk's Office to review and submit your liquor license application. 

Please do not submit any documents to the Clerk's Office via e-mail. In order to protect the information provided in your application, the Town Clerk's Office will send a secure document link for submission of application materials. 

At your appointment with the Town Clerk's Office, we will ensure that all of the necessary documents have been submitted and provide you with a timeline for next steps.

Applicant must submit executed copy of the deed (or) lease for the premise. The name on the lease must match the applicant's name. The lease should go through at least one year, in order to cover the duration of the license. 

  • Floor diagram of premises. 
    • Must be an exact representation of the licensed premise (does not need to be to scale).
    • Separate page should be submitted for each floor, showing travel path & outline the premises in BOLD black ink. 
    • Include bars, walls, entrances/exits, liquor storage, and service areas. 
    • Permanent outdoor service areas should be included if under year-round control. 
    • Include Control Plan describing how premises will be controlled, including entrances/exits & any outdoor service areas (signs, fencing, etc.)
    • Must have diagram signed off by landlord or HOA manager, when applicable, and if any outdoor service area is included (print name, title, sign & date)

Applicant must submit any relevant financial documents including the purchase agreement, stock transfer agreement, loan documentation, promissory notes, etc. 

Applicant must submit the following background information for each principal (individuals with more than 10% ownership, officers, directors, partners, members): 

  • Corporate Ownership Documents
    • S Corporations
      • Certificate of Good Standing dated within last two years
      • Articles of Organization
    • Partnership Documents
      • Partnership agreement (except for husband-wife partnerships)
      • Certificate of Co-Parternship (if applicable)
    • Limited Liability Company Documents
      • Certificate of Good Standing dated within last two years
      • Articles of Organization (acknowledged by Secretary of State)
      • Operating agreement (required if OTHER than sole member LLC or husband and wife LLC)
