Town Council Approves Regulations Related to Violations Against Government Officials
Town Council approved Ordinance 2025-O-12, Adopting Regulations Related to Violations Against Government and Public Officials, on second reading on July 8, 2025. Ordinance 2025-O-12 proposes regulations aimed at protecting the integrity of government operations, public safety personnel, and the public from interference, impersonation, or false reporting.

Contract Approved for Construction of Sidewalk Along Highway 6
Town Council approved Resolution 2025-22, Approving a Contract for a Sidewalk Along Highway 6. Safety along U.S. Highway 6 is one of the Town Council's top priorities. Construction of this initial segment of a multi-modal pathway along Highway 6 is a crucial first step in improving safety along Highway 6. This pathway will be a five-foot wide concrete sidewalk and will be separated from Highway 6 by a curb and gutter and additional 3 foot separation. The pathway will require an extensive retaining wall and a significant amount of steel railing. The proposed pathway will be entirely within the CDOT right-of-way and will terminate where the current bus stop is located. Marketing Committee Established
Town Council approved Resolution 2025-24, Establishing a Marketing Committee. Following incorporation, there has been increasing community interest in enhancing the Town’s visibility, tourism appeal, and support for local businesses. During the Town's work with the Rural Technical Assistance Program to create a Community Action Plan, the Town received recommendations to develop several committees to achieve goals outlined in the plan. The Marketing Committee will be an important next step in the Town accomplishing these goals.
Ad-Hoc Committee Policy Established
Town Council approved Resolution 2025-25, Approving a Policy for the Creation of Ad-Hoc Committees. This policy outlines the process for the Town Council to establish single-issue committees to advise Town Council on a defined issue for a time-limited period.

Town Council Schedules Public Hearing & Second Reading of Pet Animal Regulations
Town Council approved Ordinance 2025-O-13, Regarding the Regulation of Pet Animals, on first reading, on July 8, 2025. This action schedules a Public Hearing and Second Reading of the ordinance on July 22, 2025. Ordinance 2025-O-13 establishes regulations related to pet animals within the Town of Keystone. This includes regulations related to the use of leashes on paved pathways and the requirement for pet animals to have a license. Town Council approved the ordinance on First Reading with a change to strike any references to the Town's telephone directory.
